ABOUT US

At Riverside Children’s Center, we believe that childcare should promote the emotional, social, physical and cognitive growth of each child. Each child should be viewed as unique and encouraged to reach their full potential through developmentally appropriate experiences. We are committed to enhancing each child’s understanding of their world, so they can approach new concepts, materials and situations with confidence and enthusiasm.

Riverside understands that children are best served when parents’ needs and concerns are met and addressed, along with the needs of their children. RCC’s goal is to provide the best possible program for children and, at the same time, to be a resource and support system to families.

Riverside takes great pride in our educators and realizes that they are the heart and soul of our program. High-quality care and education are never compromised at Riverside. Educators give their very best every day and it shows! We select educators who are warm and have a teaching style and philosophy that reflects the approach we use at Riverside. Our educators are college-educated childcare professionals with diverse backgrounds and talents.

Extended Learning Opportunities

Music and Movement

A music teacher visits the center weekly, from Oct. to July. We also offer a variety of enrichment programs each year that may include sports programs, gymnastics, yoga, and/or language programs.

Field Trips and Summer

At various times throughout the year if allowed under Covid restrictions, we may plan field trips to a variety of places such as farms, museums, parks, etc.

During the summer months, teachers provide a "day camp" atmosphere by maximizing the amount of time and activities outside.

Admissions and Enrollment

The Riverside Children’s Center is open to all children from 3 months through 5 years old.  To apply, every new family must schedule an appointment for a tour of the Center with the Director or the Director’s delegate and complete an enrollment application.

Children are admitted to the Center based on available space.  Priority of enrollment is determined on a first-come, first-served basis, using a family’s application date, in accordance with the priorities set forth below.

Enrollment priority will be given (in order) to the following categories of applicants:

  1. Currently enrolled children and children of staff members

  2. Siblings of currently enrolled children and new children of staff members

  3. Alumni

  4. Other applicants

Each winter currently enrolled families are given priority to pre-enroll their child for the following year.  Decisions for admission are made by the Director, in accordance with the policies outlined above. After in-house families are pre-enrolled, wait-listed families are then offered to pre-enroll for a $100 application fee. Contracts are issued between January and February of each year, for admission the following September.  A signed contract accompanied by a one-time $500 last month’s tuition deposit will secure a spot for the child. Openings that occur during the year are filled from the waiting list in accordance with the priorities outlined above.

Tuition

Tuition is due by the first day of each month, in advance of childcare use. Tuition must be paid in full, even when a child is absent for illness or vacation or when the center is closed for holidays, snow days, staff workweek, or other closures caused by events beyond the reasonable control of Riverside Children’s Center. 10-month contracts are available to families who attend 5 days during the school year (Sept-June) they have the option of 0,2,3 days for July and August paid at the rate for that schedule.
